Join us for our June Make It, Take It event, Fingerprint Flowerpots, where children and families will design personalized flowerpots and create a special home for a new plant to grow.
Creating a personalized flowerpot helps children feel connected to their plants while encouraging creativity and self-expression. As children care for their plants and watch them grow, they build patience, responsibility, empathy for living things, confidence, and a sense of accomplishment.
Gardening offers meaningful hands-on exploration
and supports early learning in fun and engaging
ways. This activity combines crafting and gardening
to provide a calming sensory experience while strengthening:
- Fine motor development
- Problem-solving skills
- Early math and STEM concepts
- Creativity and imaginative thinking
Children will have opportunities to paint, scoop, plant, water, and create while keeping little hands busy and growing minds engaged throughout the summer months.
