About this Event

Threaded Histories is a monument created to represent San Francisco's garment workers past and present.

As part of the over all intention behind the creation of the monument the artist- Ariana Martinez-Cruz is dedicated to sharing her knowledge of sewing with the community as an homage to the skilled sewers that helped shape the iconc brands San Francisco is known for.

This is a free community event which will focus on learning key hand sewing skills to help mend clothes within your wardrobe. There will be sewing kits provided to attendees the day of and a guided demo in English and Spanish.

There is limited seating on a first come first serve basis. There is street parking availble but not gaurneteed. Utilizing public transportation is highly recommened if possible.


Please join us for a day of mending, story telling and over all community connection!
