Wrap up the school week with calming, cozy creativity!Join The Mindfulness Movement at Valentine Hills Elementary for the winter session of Make & Take: Calming Creations, an after-school enrichment class where students in grades 1–5 create peaceful, sensory-based art projects designed to encourage calm, connection, and creativity.
Each week features a different winter-themed project that students will make and take home, creating their very own mindfulness toolbox:
❄️ Week 1: Falling Snow Sensory Bottles
Shake and swirl a peaceful winter scene you can hold in your hands.
✨ Week 2: Snowflake Slime
Stretch, sparkle, and settle with this soothing sensory slime.
🍪 Week 3: Gingerbread Play Dough
Sculpt and play with spiced dough that smells like holiday joy.
Led by licensed teacher Tara Willits, this calm and creative class helps students unwind after school while building emotional regulation skills through mindful art.
