Creative calm, crafted by kids—after school!Join The Mindfulness Movement for Make & Take: Calming Creations, a hands-on art and mindfulness enrichment series at Island Lake Elementary School in partnership with Mounds View Community Education. Designed for students in grades 1–5, this 3-week after-school program helps kids relax, regulate, and express themselves through meaningful sensory-based projects.
Each class features a new calming creation your child will get to make and take home, building their own toolkit for emotional wellness and mindful self-care. Projects may include:
🌈 Falling leaves sensory bottles
🍎 Apple cinnamon slime
🌸 Pressed flower pumpkins
Led by licensed teacher teacher Tara Willits, each session supports creativity, connection, and emotional regulation through art-based SEL practices and peaceful fun.
