Discover the art of Kinusaiga at The Makery! Join us in Downtown Wake Forest, NC for a relaxing, beginner-friendly fiber art workshop where you'll use colorful fabrics to create a beautiful dimensional floral design.
Kinusaiga is a Japanese-inspired textile art technique sometimes described as “painting with fabric.” Instead of sewing, pieces of fabric are carefully tucked into a prepared design to create clean lines, beautiful textures, and a quilted appearance.
Your instructor will guide you step-by-step through the process, from choosing and arranging your fabrics to learning the techniques for tucking, layering, and finishing your design. With a variety of fabrics available, you'll be able to play with color, pattern, and texture to make your flower uniquely yours.
Your finished 6.5" x 6.5" Kinusaiga artwork will be displayed in an 8" wooden frame, ready to take home and enjoy.
No sewing, quilting, or previous fiber art experience is necessary. This workshop is perfect for beginners, experienced makers wanting to explore a new medium, or anyone looking for a fun and creative girls' night or art class in Wake Forest.
