About this Event
Rip, draw, stamp, paint, collage! Zines are for everyone and can be made about just about anything.
Join talented local artist Etain O'Carroll to get stuck in and make your own zines and comics, from simple materials, with amazing results. Using collage materials inspired by our latest exhibition, A Way of Life: The People behind St Giles Fair, you will follow Etain in mastering the folds to make your own paper booklet and then let your creativity run wild!
All materials will provided at the workshop, but you are welcome to bring your own photos, cut-outs or old magazines to use.
This workshop is best suited for children aged 5-10. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times. Adults go free with a child’s ticket.
Our later workshop, aimed at children aged 11-16, will explore more advanced paper folds and zine construction. Please get in touch with Charlotte if you are unsure which workshop is suitable for your child.
Etain O'Carroll is a photographer, writer, artist and arts educator who has a special interest in collaborative public art projects and facilitating socially engaged, community-based work. She work through a process of co-creation towards tangible outcomes, focusing on issues around sustainability, well-being, memory, identity and belonging, often working closely with, and in, nature in order to build resilience, confidence and skills among participants.
