- Week 2: Saturday 23rd November 2024, Upcycle Your Own Tote Bag
- Week 4: Saturday 14th December 2024, Sew Your Own Patchwork Pillowcase / Cushion Cover
What to expect in week 3, make a sustainable Christmas jumper?
In this session, children aged 5-10 and their parent/carer will transform plain or old jumpers into unique, upcycled Christmas jumpers using recycled materials.
Each year, around 12 million Christmas jumpers are purchased in the UK alone, with most made from plastic-based materials that contribute to textile waste.
This session focuses on creative reuse, teaching kids how to extend the life of their clothes. By upcycling your own jumper, you'll not only create a one-of-a-kind piece that no-one else has, but you’ll also be helping to reduce the environmental impact of fast fashion during the holiday season.
Here's what you'll experience
- Children and parents will work together, getting creative to upcycle old plain jumpers, cardigans or sweatshirts into a one-of-a-kind festive Christmas jumper!
- Upcycle an old plain jumper, cardigan or sweatshirt and learn basic sewing techniques and stitches. You'll have a choice of plenty fabrics, materials and accessories to make your jumper sparkle. Transform your old jumper with a snowman, stars, Christmas trees or anything else this festive season.
- The session is 2 hours long.
- If you have any dietry or special requirements, please get in contact or email [email protected]

Why you'll love this workshop
This crafting class aims to inspire creativity and environmental awareness by teaching children the value of sustainability through crafting.
- A Focus on Sustainable Fashion - Crafting often involves creating new items from scratch, but in this club, we will transform old, discarded clothing and materials into fashionable, stylish, and fun items. Activities in this class will encourage children to think about eco-friendly practices while exploring their creativity, addressing the cost of living crisis to encourage families to think about reusing to save money and promoting circular fashion to reinvent old things to create new loved pieces.
- Hands-On Learning - Children will not only craft but also learn about the lifecycle of clothing, the impact of waste, and creative ways to upcycle everyday items. Children will be encouraged to explore their artistic abilities through hands-on projects and develop their motor skills.
- Interactive Parent/Carer-Child Collaboration - Parents/Carers will work alongside their children, assisting with projects while learning together about sustainability.
Limited spots available - Our workshops are kept small for personalised attention, so be sure to book early to secure your spot!
