Make a Leather Journal
About this Event
Come along for a relaxed, hands-on leather journal workshop with Atelier127 and create a journal that is completely your own.
What you’ll do:
- Choose your leather journal size, elastic colour, and attachments.
- Learn some simple leatherworking techniques, including beveling and burnishing.
- Assemble the elastic cord and put your journal together.
- Get creative with our selection of stamps and inks to decorate your journal.
- Add your favourite photo — we’ll print it for you to include in your journal.
- Finish by adding your own name or initials with our monogramming machine.
- Take home a journal that you’ve made and personalised yourself.

Who is this experience for?
This workshop is for anyone who enjoys making things, being creative, or simply wants to try something different.
No previous leatherworking or crafting experience is needed. We’ll guide you through each step, so you can take your time and enjoy the process.
It’s also a lovely experience to do with friends, as a couple, or as a creative day out on your own.
Agenda
01 — Choose Your Leather & Size
Info: Start by choosing the leather cover for your journal. Pick the colour and finish that feels most like you. Each piece of leather has its own natural character, so no two journals are exactly the same.
02 — Shape & Prepare
Info: Get hands-on with the leather. You’ll learn some of the simple techniques we use in our workshop, including beveling and burnishing the edges to give your journal a smooth, finished feel.
03 — Make It Yours
Info: Choose your elastic cord colour and put your journal together. You’ll learn how the elastic system works and assemble the cover yourself, creating the foundation for your journal.
04 — Fill It Your Way
Info: Now comes the fun part. Choose your notebook inserts, charms, stickers and other attachments to build a journal that suits you. Whether you want something simple and minimal or colourful and creative, there’s no right or wrong way to do it.
05 — Instax photo, Stamp & Create
Info: Get your favorite photo printed with Instax. Explore our collection of rubber stamps and inks and start creating your own pages. Mix patterns, letters, shapes and little details to make the journal completely your own.
06 — Add Your Personal Touch
Info: Finish your journal with a personalised touch. Choose what you want to add, arrange your favourite details and leave with a handmade journal that you’ve created yourself.
