Make a Leather Credit Card Holder

This workshop is an introduction to working with vegetable-tanned leather.

Create a simple but elegant credit card holder out of 2mm thick leather. Learn how to layout, cut, and hand stitch leather. Skive and burnish the leather edges and take home your new wallet.

Our instructor, Chris G., is an industrial designer/woodworker and vintage tool collector who decided, years ago, that he needed leather sheaths to protect edge tools. His personal workspace is in an unheated garage so in the winter he likes to work with leather in his basement shop. Leather work doesn’t create dust and no large machines are required.
