MainStage 3: Emerging Voices
About this Event
"Emerging Voices" celebrates the amazing talent and beauty of the SF Opera’s Adler Fellows in a program featuring some of opera’s most beloved arias. This is an exceptional opportunity to hear these unique voices in the intimate space of our chamber orchestra concerts.
Our program begins with Mendelssohn’s fiery String Symphony No. 7, written when he was only 14 years of age, yet already a master of his craft.
Pulitzer Prize winner, Caroline Shaw, composed Entr’acte as an homage to Joseph Haydn, giving the old master a fresh and modern twist. Written two years before Partita for 8 Voices, her Pulitzer Prize–winning composition, Entr'acte captures one of classical music's most talented contemporary voices at the genesis of her career.
Program:
Felix Mendelssohn - String Symphony No. 7 in D minor
Caroline Shaw – Entr’acte
SF Opera 2027 Adler Fellows - Selected Arias
