From Bach to Radiohead, they bring fresh interpretations and unexpected arrangements, born from their early days of busking on Boise’s streets to becoming one of Idaho’s most inventive ensembles.

The Double Bass Trio offers a fresh and unexpected voice in modern jazz, pairing two upright basses — Josh Skinner and Braun Khan — with pianist Alex Sjobeck. Their original works and creative arrangements bridge the harmonic depth of classical music with the rhythmic vitality of jazz, offering a listening experience that’s both refined and electrifying. Mentored by renowned bassist John Clayton, the trio’s music resonates with fans of both genres, merging the best of the concert hall and the jazz club.
