After a quiet spell, Maho Rasop returns in a new format. While it’s not a festival this year, the experience is just as complete. Maho Rasop Series will bring a run of headline shows from a range of international artists, each one carefully chosen, offering something memorable for music lovers throughout the final months of 2025.
Black Country, New Road are an experimental indie band from Cambridge, England, formed in 2018 by a group of friends—many of them music students. Their sound blends baroque pop, progressive elements, folk, and rock in ways that resist easy definition. Known for their unpredictable live shows and emotionally charged arrangements, they quickly emerged as one of the UK’s most talked-about new bands, eventually signing with Ninja Tune.
Their debut album, For the first time (2021), introduced a bold mix of strings, brass, jagged post-punk, and dense, shifting textures. Ants From Up There (2022) followed with a more melodic and open sound, while keeping their distinct narrative voice. Around this time, frontman Isaac Wood stepped away from the band, prompting a shift in lineup and direction.
Their third album, Forever Howlong (2025), marks a new chapter—led by the remaining six members, including Tyler Hyde, Georgia Ellery, and May Kershaw. Singles like “Besties”, “Happy Birthday”, and “For the Cold Country” point toward a brighter, more accessible sound.
Despite their evolution, BC,NR’s live performances remain precise and emotionally layered—carefully crafted without ever feeling fixed. Forever Howlong debuted at #3 on the UK Albums Chart, reached #1 on the UK Indie Chart, and brought them onto the US Billboard 200 for the first time.
