About this Event

Join Blue Ridge Mahj at Trouvaille Brewing Company for a fun, welcoming evening of American Mahjong! Whether you're ready to build your strategy in Mahjong 102 or simply want to practice your skills during Open Play, you'll enjoy a relaxed, social atmosphere while connecting with other local players.

Each guest will have access to high-quality mahjong sets, racks, mats, and all instructional materials—just bring yourself!

Mahjong 102 includes guided coaching from your instructor, Kate, with a focus on hand selection, Charleston decisions, defensive play, pivoting, and game strategy to help you become a more confident player.

Open Play is perfect for players who already know the basics and simply want more time at the table. Enjoy a relaxed evening of gameplay with support available if questions come up—but without a formal lesson.

Who should attend?

• Mahjong 102: Players should already understand the basic rules of American Mahjong and be comfortable playing a game with some assistance. If you're brand new to mahjong, we recommend registering for Mahjong 101 first.
• Open Play: Players should already know the basics of American Mahjong and be able to participate in a game independently or with occasional guidance.

🍺 Food and beverages are available for purchase from Trouvaille Brewing Company throughout the event. Come early or stay afterward to enjoy great drinks, delicious food, and time with fellow Mahjong enthusiasts.
