Join Old Dominion Mahjong for Mahjong & Merlot Part 2 in the private room at Aroma II Tasting Room. This charming, Portuguese-inspired wine bar in downtown Haymarket offers a beautiful setting to reconnect with the game and enjoy an evening with friends.
This lesson is perfect for players who have completed Mahjong 101 or learned before and would like a refresher. With a small group, hands-on instruction, and plenty of encouragement, you’ll have time to ask questions and practice.
We’ll review:
• The tiles and suits
• How to read the National Mah Jongg League card
• The Charleston and the flow of the game
• Jokers, exposures, and common questions
Then we’ll bring it together through guided play, with support choosing a hand, knowing when to change direction, and making thoughtful decisions as you play.
All tiles, cards, and supplies are provided for use during the lesson. Some prior experience with American mahjong is recommended; brand-new players should begin with Mahjong 101.
Come solo or bring a friend. Arrive early to enjoy a glass of wine and light bites, available for purchase separately from Aroma II. Check your event details for the lesson start time.
