About this Event

MAHJ MEN is a laid-back introduction to American Mah Jongg—served with a side of whiskey. Hosted at Kansas City’s original distillery, J. Rieger & Co., this beginner-friendly experience will teach attendees the tiles, decode the card, how to build hands, and get comfortable playing the game from start to finish.

Each ticket includes guided American Mah Jongg instruction, one drink ticket, and a 2026 National Mah Jongg League card to keep. No experience necessary—just come ready to learn, sip, and play.

While MAHJ MEN was created with one mission in mind—to get more men around the mahjong table—all are welcome. Bring your husband, brother, buddy, neighbor, or simply yourself. No suits, corner offices, or prior mahjong experience required.

PARKING: J. Reiger & Co. offers a complimentary surface parking lot located directly on the west side of their building at 2700 Guinotte Ave in Kansas City. Additional street parking is also available nearby.
