Magnificat Palm Desert Our Lady’s Desert Roses Buffet Prayer Meal with Guest Speakers Joe Chacon and Celine Flores, Saturday, June 13, 2026, 9:00 am to Noon at the Woodhaven Country Club in Palm Desert

Raised Roman Catholic, Joe Chacon turned away from the faith for more than eight years. He embraced agnosticism, a belief that human reason cannot sufficiently prove or disprove the existence of a higher power. As a result, he began to lead a life of sin, involving drinking and drugs, and remained far from God and the Almighty's teachings. However, God wanted him back, and Joe experienced a miraculous return to the faith. Joe’s mother, Celine Flores, like St. Augustine’s mother, St. Monica, was devout in praying for her son’s return. We invite you to join us as Joe and his mother, Celine, share their inspiring testimony. Their story is a testament to the power of prayer, showing that no one is beyond reach and that God can work in the lives of those who have strayed through the persistent prayers of others.
