Prerelease celebrates the launch of a new set and is your players' first opportunity to explore what the set has to offer. Players open a Prerelease Pack, build a 40-card Sealed deck, and play with the set for the first time in a casual and fun environment.

Set out from The Shire with Bilbo, Gandalf, and their company of Dwarves in pursuit of fortune, adventure, and the dreadful Dragon Smaug. Amass and recruit your armies in the shadow of The Lonely Mountain, then battle it out to claim the treasures of Erebor!

Prerelease Kit Contents:

• 1 traditional foil rare/mythic rare card
• Spindown™ life counter

We're raffling off three Collector Boosters per event! Receive one raffle ticket with entry, plus an additional ticket if you come dressed in something Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit-themed!

Three rounds of Swiss maximum. No player cap. Prizing will be one Magic: The Gathering® | The Hobbit™Play Booster per win (two per win for 2HG).

For 2HG players, please select either Saturday, 8/8 at 7pm OR Sunday, 8/9 at 7pm, then select the 2HG ticket option before checkout.

If you would like to purchase a Prerelease Kit without participating in any of our in-store tournaments, please select a pick-up date and then select the At-Home Only ticket option before checkout. When you come to pick up, please input the Event code into the MTG Companion app to receive one Magic: The Gathering® | The Hobbit™Play Booster (one pack per Wizards account).
