Maggie’s and Baltic have teamed up to provide new event experiences and monthly art therapy workshops for people with cancer. We are excited to confirm the second event in this collaboration is a Walk on Fire outside Baltic, overlooking Newcastle Gateshead’s iconic quayside.
Why fire walking?
Walking on hot coals, known as firewalking, is an ancient practice in various cultures. Individuals walk barefoot on burning coals, which can reach temperatures up to 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit. Firewalkers navigate the path without burns or injuries due to the coals’ insulating ash and specific mental and physical techniques. Firewalking demonstrates human resilience and serves as a metaphor for overcoming fears and challenges in life.
Event information:
- Registration opens at 6pm at Baltic, Gateshead Quayside (NE8 3BA)
- Check-in, collect your Maggie’s T-shirt and Baltic tote bag and complete your event registration with FireWalk UK
