Madison's hardest working Bluegrass band, Soggy Prairie, is proud to host the Madison Bluegrass Roundabout, a monthly Tuesday night series highlighting Southern Wisconsin's Bluegrass scene. Each month will feature a set from Soggy Prairie followed by a set from a guest band.
The twenty-first installment of the MBR brings our first repeat band, Madison's own SPARETIME BLUEGRASS. This also serves as the official Rounadbout Sugar Maple Festival preview.
The SpareTime Bluegrass Band is one of Madison’s longest-running bluegrass groups, bringing traditional bluegrass music to audiences throughout Wisconsin and the Midwest since 1994. The band delivers a blend of classic first-generation bluegrass, strong vocal harmonies, and skilled instrumentation. Over more than three decades, SpareTime Bluegrass has become a fixture of the regional acoustic music scene, sharing stages with nationally recognized bluegrass artists and earning multiple nominations from the Madison Area Music Awards. True to its name, the band is made up of musicians with day jobs who come together in their spare time to celebrate the music they love. Their performances combine authentic bluegrass tradition, heartfelt vocals, and the kind of “mighty fine pickin’ and singin’” that keeps audiences coming back.
