Madison Ave Soap Box Derby (Decatur)

We will be Sketching the Madison Avenue Soap Box Derby in Oakhurst neighborhood Decatur. It is one block from the East Lake Marta.
The derby is an incredible pageant of creativity and should provide endless inspiration. Once the cars careen down the hill it’s a nail biter as what could go wrong with toddlers in homemade plywood ice cream trucks steering down hill towards a creek? Let’s hope the EMT vehicle is for real!!!
Registration starts at 10:30 AM and the derby lasts into the afternoon. We will have throw down at the top of Madison at Johnson at 12:30 PM. The actual race begins at 1. There are food stands etc and it should be lots of fun if people want to stay & sketch longer. Depending on how things go we may organize a 2nd throw down.
The organizers have stated they may want to post our sketches and have agreed to tag our group and us as individuals on social media so include your handle on sketches.
Xana and I have collaborated and agree that both our events on one day are worth doing.
