Made in SomoS - Artist Talk & Pop-up Exhibition
Schedule
Thu Feb 12 2026 at 06:00 pm to 09:00 pm
UTC+01:00Location
SomoS | Berlin, BE
Made in SomoS offers a public look at what the current resident artists are working on: an artist
talk (7 p.m.) within a pop-up exhibition in the gallery. The formats range from painting and
photography to installation and VR, each proposing a distinct way to work with images,
attention, and recollection.
Join us for an evening of concise presentations, discussion, and informal exchange; an
opportunity to encounter new material and speak directly with the artists about their
preoccupations and creative process.
Participating artists
Seehyun Kim (based in Seoul)
Kim develops kinetic environments using installation, painting, and VR, staging perception as an
active, embodied event. She will present and discuss: the expansion of her “Cabbage Worm” series into an immersive nstallation with a VR component, reflecting on metamorphosis and the instability of perception. Kim will present her work in full in a solo exhibition at SomoS, opening February 19
2026.
Yasmine Laraqui (based in Casablanca) Working across text, moving image, and installation, Laraqui traces how identity is formed through inherited codes, social surveillance, and representational templates. She will present and discuss: an installation in development that combines AI-assisted writing with improvised video and an interface logic in which an avatar functions like a search engine, treating memory as a record that can be edited, queried, and re-authored.
Laura Pachon (born in Barcelona, based in Paris) Pachon transforms diaristic documentation into painting, installation, video, and digital works, focused on how private experience becomes public image. She will present and discuss: a multidisciplinary Berlin nightlife project that evokes the clubbing experience, focused on how intimacy and self-perception shift at night.
Aaron Rigal (based in London)
In oil painting, Rigal builds images through addition and erasure, tightening the relation between
recognition and abstraction. He will present and discuss: new works that re-order art-historical references until they verge on misrecognition.
Moderator
Daisy Nikoloska is a writer and cultural researcher based between Berlin and online, working
