Do you remember the late 90s when we sat glued to our television screens watching Rajesh Kumar on Isidingo?
Well, Saturday, the 20th of June gives me the privilege of hosting a very special Father's Day-themed dinner with one of my favourite people: actor, media personality, and dear friend, Jack Devnarain, known to many as the charming Rajesh.
This evening is a celebration of fathers, grandfathers, uncles, brothers, and the men who have shaped our lives with their strength, kindness, and unwavering presence.
I was fortunate enough to have a wonderful paternal grandfather. I often say he was a giant amongst men…dependable, hardworking, rock solid, and full of a love that felt like sunshine. It is a gift I still carry in my soul, and one that flows beautifully into every aspect of my life and work.
For this special evening, I have put together a hearty home-cooked feast designed to bring back old memories while creating new ones. Alongside wonderful food, guests will enjoy the company, stories, humour, and warmth of Jack Devnarain.
I'll be cooking my signature "hand food" while Jack entertains, and together we'll create an evening filled with laughter, storytelling, delicious food, and old-school Durban Indian hospitality.

Roasted Leg of Lamb marinated with fresh thyme, garlic, and our special blend of spices
Creamy Herb-Infused Potato Bake
Traditional Layered Lamb Breyani made with tender cuts of lamb, served with dhal and carrot salad
Braised Chicken Curry cooked on the bone with melting potatoes
Andhra Prawn Curry with succulent prawns simmered in a tomato, tamarind, and curry leaf sauce that brings real Telugu flavour to the table• Fresh Hot Roti, straight from the thava to your plate
Dessert: Traditional Wedding Soji

We have a large dining table accommodating 6–10 guests. Smaller bookings may be seated together at our supper-club-style communal table, creating a warm and intimate dining experience.
Still water, sparkling water, and soft drinks will be available. No alcohol is sold on the premises, however guests are welcome to bring along a bottle of wine to enjoy with dinner.
