About this Event
Autumn is almost here, and the rainy season is a great time to photograph in a studio environment. Discover how to unlock the endless potential for creative expression in the world of tabletop and macro in this hands-on guided workshop. Instructor Mike Vraneža will review and demonstrate the specialized equipment, techniques, and software you’ll need to capture images of fall and Halloween.
Attendees may want to take advantage of Pro Photo Supply Rental's macro lenses, lighting, and camera support gear to maximize the knowledge in this course and test some of the best equipment for macro photography. You’ll capture your own unique images in a controlled studio environment with Mike as your guide, and learn how to apply these techniques in the field.
PLEASE NOTE: An optional 2-hour virtual follow-up image review is scheduled for Wednesday, October 29th, from 6:30 pm8:30 pm to 8:30pm
What you should bring:
- Your camera, preferably a mirrorless or dSLR camera, and a tripod (one will be provided if you don’t own one already)
- Any other macro gear you may have (lenses, extension tubes, macro ring light, etc)
- Any still life or macro subject matter or backgrounds you might want to photograph
- A phone or tablet for wireless tethering
What we’ll have for you to try:
- A mirrorless or dSLR camera (if you do not have one already)
- Leading macro lenses from major camera manufacturers
- Macro extension tubes
- Studio lighting
- Tabletop set materials for rigging and backdrops





ABOUT MIKE VRANEZA

Nearly 20 years ago, Mike Vraneža took what was then a hobby, went back to art school, and jumped into the deep end… What started as a passion for photography and curiosity for the world turned into an ever-evolving career with countless commercial photography and video assignments that have spanned the continent, shooting an immense range of assignments along the way. With over 10 years of teaching experience at both the workshop and college level, he has helped countless students take their photography to the next level. He brings an enthusiasm for photography to the classroom with a conversational teaching style meant to empower students in their visual arts journey. Mike has extensive experience working at macro scale, both in commercial and personal work, in the field and in creating staged tabletop sets.

This multi-part workshop is limited to 15 spots with a minimum of 5 registered attendees needed. In the event the minimum isn't met, the session will be canceled and registered attendees will receive full refunds.
