Machine Basic's with Renee's Stitch and Style School

Join guest artist Renee’s Stitch & Style School for a fun and sewing workshop perfect introduction for true beginners or anyone who needs a relaxed refresher on the fundamentals of machine sewing. In this supportive, hands-on class, students will gain confidence using a sewing machine while learning essential skills that every sewist needs to get started.
We will cover how to properly thread a sewing machine, wind and insert a bobbin, adjust basic machine settings, sew straight and consistent seams, and become familiar with essential sewing tools and terminology. With guided, step-by-step instruction, students will practice these skills while creating a simple and functional envelope-style pillow slipcover to take home at the end of class.
Students may bring their own working sewing machine or borrow one of ours for the session. Prepared material packets $12 will be available for purchase. Students who prefer to bring their own supplies should bring: 1/3 yard printed 100% cotton fabric, one yard coordinating 100% cotton solid fabric, and one spool of matching thread.
