Acclaimed at Edinburgh Fringe! U.S. Premiere! A bold, absurdist dark comedy blending Shakespeare, Hip-Hop, tragedy, and modern life.
About this Event

This original play fuses modern absurdist drama and the classical tragedy of Shakespeare. It explores the evolution of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth from the Elizabethan era to the present day. The classical couple first murders their way to the crown, taking that initial step into "possibility" and planting an inescapable four-hundred-year seed of karma. That heavy tragedy is then dragged into a black comedy farce through a nether-world encounter, before shifting seamlessly into a contemporary middle-class living room. Here, Macbeth’s cruelty is subtler, more ruthless, and devoid of bottom lines—above all, he has learned to rationalize it all.

Macbeth has survived for over four hundred years not because he never died, but because the world continuously provides him with new ways to live. Even those who see through him remain trapped living inside Macbeth’s world. Performed by a cast of two portraying six roles, the production weaves familiar Hip-Hop rhythms into a distinct theatrical language, creating a striking collision between Shakespearean texts and street culture.

This play premiered in Edinburgh Fringe 2026. It garnered great reviews from the audience. One reads: “The two leads are strong, and create some powerful moments of intensity and emotion, as well as joyous scenes of unbridled silliness. For me, this is what Fringe theatre is about - taking a chance on something different.”
