Maarewa Dance Festival – Edition 1 (2026)
A curated performance platform bringing national and international dance works to Ahmedabad.
Maarewa Dance Festival – Edition 1 is a newly launched dance festival created for Ahmedabad audiences, envisioned as a platform where diverse dance voices from India and across the world come together on one stage.
Organised by Ahmedabad Ballet School – Centre for Dance and Arts, the festival is conceived to present carefully curated performances by established and emerging artists, offering audiences access to high-quality dance works across styles, aesthetics, and cultural contexts. Maarewa celebrates dance as a universal language—one that transcends borders, traditions, and geographies.
Each edition of the festival aims to host artists whose work reflects artistic integrity, strong training, and a distinct creative voice. By bringing national and international performers to Ahmedabad, Maarewa seeks to broaden the city’s cultural exposure while nurturing an informed and engaged dance audience.
Under the direction of Dipak Prajapati (Director) and Bhoomiti Prajapati (Artistic Director), Maarewa Dance Festival is envisioned as a long-term cultural initiative—one that supports artistic exchange, meaningful performance experiences, and sustained dialogue between artists and audiences.
Maarewa Dance Festival – Edition 1 marks the beginning of this journey, inviting the city to experience dance in its many forms—thoughtful, powerful, and transformative.
