Maara Time: Grow Your Own Kai
Advertisement
Every Thursdays between 11am and 12.30pm, drop in to visit the PVA crew, where you can learn how to grow your own kai/food and care for the whenua/land.
Each week will have something different, from ngahere kai (food forest) maintenance, sowing seasonal seeds, painting, composting, planting, harvesting or if the Maramataka (Māori lunar calendar) permits just a good cuppa tea and kōrero/chat.
KaiWaka (food canoe) refers to the journey of kai. We consider food to be a sacred, natural part of life. When treated with care, kai can look after us and our environment. Come hop on the KaiWaka with PVA!
There’s plenty of on-street parking and for wheelchair accessibility park on the driveway and come around the back.
No need to register, just drop in dressed for the season. See you there! ☺
