This time, you’re warmly invited at Mustafa’s! This invitation comes from both sides: Mustafa, bridge builder and carrier of the social cohesion in the Maritime neighbourhood of Molenbeek, asking us to use the rez-de-chaussée for a night of neo-folk groove from New York, electronic rhythm detectorism, and choppy-poppy music of the future.

◇ RAT HENRY ◇ (Minimum Table Stacks)
Rat Henry is the music project of Brooklyn-based artist Ray Zarnowitz. In 2024, he released his debut LP, Material Pop Vol. 1., one of our favorite albums that year. World Of Echo properly discribed it:
Highly stylish collection of absolutely and totally New York slop and roll by Ray Zarnowitz's Rat Henry project. A couple of self-released cassettes notwithstanding, this is quite the debut and honestly, the kind of music I thought NYC had given up on once the avo toast hit 30 bucks a slice. The whole punk persona as lifestyle art statement is in full effect throughout, Zarnowitz completely inhabiting the character he's created. Given the locale and speak-sing delivery, you're not gonna travel too hard without hearing the words 'Lou' and 'Reed', but Zarnowitz does it with genuine zeal and a heavy propensity for odd-shapes and left-turns, where compelling jangle-pop nuggets brush shoulders with short electronic drones and ambient passages, the exact sweet-spot where Siltbreeze hits Flying Nun.

◇ RUMP STATE ◇ (No Lagos Musique)
Rump State is Gaute Granli and Mark Morgan.
A successful attempt at living together by two misanthropes? We find in Rump State Mark Morgan, who was the man behind the too unknown Sightings, a New York trio at the origin of an impressive noise rock of inventiveness, a band difficult to tame and probably too far ahead of its time. A few outstanding records, notably on Load Records, Daïs... and then leave; Mark Morgan has since officiated in Silk Purse with appearances on To Live and Shave in LA and collaborations with Aaron Dilloway, among others.
Gaute Granli is a member of Firmaet Forvoksen. From his native Norway, he distills a confusing and unidentified body of sound as a solo artist... perhaps a new music, a choppy, desolate pop... from the next century.
The two musicians share a guitar playing and a vocal approach of apparently destructured but well and truly chiseled. They produce a sound mass that we feel like drifting or inexorably carried away by quicksand...
Attention: uncomfortable psychedelism and total avant-garde.

◇ ORPHIDS ◇
Chaos and order can also do a dance ~ the electronic duo of Lucie Pinier (Fruiting Body, Sorcière Picasso) and Matthieu Levet (Carrageenan, Pizza Noise Mafia, Carcass Identity) known as Orphids inhabits a tension-filled universe where anarchy finds melodic integrity. Polyrhythms create a boundless frenetic playground where ambient, techno and noise collide into a whirlwind of colorful narratives and upbeat structures.
