Learn this gentle but powerful massage that encourages the movement of lymph fluids around the body to help remove waste and toxins from the bodily tissues.This massage modality may benefit people with lymphedema, fibromyalgia, and other conditions.
Participants will practice proper body mechanics of practitioner including smooth transitions and effective hand positions.
Registrants will be instructed on contraindications and effectively demonstrate how to adjust the session accordingly if indicated.
Participants shall be able to identify the history and theory of lymph drainage massage, lymphatic system, immune system, edema, functions of the lymphatic system and benefits.
Registrants shall practice and identify techniques used in the lymph drainage massage routine.
This is a 1-day class from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
The cost of this workshop is $200 at least two weeks in advance. which includes a class manual on techniques.
Each registrant will give and receive as registrants practice on one another. You will also receive a certificate upon completion of this class.
Class size limited.
Prerequisite: LMT, or Massage Student or other healthcare professional with approval.
