About this Event
Lydia Cash bridges the gap between her visual art and music through her most recent collection of paintings, named after her upcoming album, "Violet".At its core, "Violet" is about healing one’s inner child. Vulnerable, honest, and defiant, it is a glittering ode to radical self-love and female empowerment. The ten songs on the album inspire each of the ten paintings. Cash views the act of painting itself as a healing practice, through risk-taking, play, and intuitive mark-making.

Lydia Cash is a multidisciplinary artist and musician based in Chicago. Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, Lydia moved to Chicago in 2013 after earning a BA in Fine Art and Music from Auburn University.
Lydia’s painting practice is driven by a commitment to exploration, intuition, and emotional expression. Working primarily in abstraction, she focuses on creating unexpected color relationships, playful and instinctive mark-making, and compositions that evolve through a process of discovery. Her approach is shaped in part by her personal experience with OCD and a longstanding desire to create from a place of freedom and self-trust.
