To some, this musical is a classic, but to the Ligonier community it’s so much more than that. Five years ago, the students and faculty of Ligonier Valley School District excitedly painted props, crafted elaborate set pieces, sewed gorgeous costumes, rehearsed their lines and songs, and spread the news of their upcoming spring musical… The Wizard of Oz! However, due to the global pandemic, the show was cancelled just two weeks before opening night. This show has held a special place in the hearts of the Ligonier community and 2020 cast ever since.
So, this year’s LVHS musical production is more than just an annual show… it’s a celebration. Join us as we commemorate not just the current students who are bringing the Ligonier Valley High School theater program back to life but also the alumni cast whose effort in the 2020 show won’t be forgotten. We are so grateful for the success of the past two shows “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” in 2023 and “The Lightning Thief: A Percy Jackson Musical” in 2024. Now, we feel blessed to be able to finally bring this beloved musical to the Ligonier Valley High School stage. We hope you come to see and enjoy… “The Wizard of Oz!”
