About this Event
CREATE — Interactive Art Experience
Chicago artist, Damon Lamar Reed will lead young people in a collaborative art experience where teens can contribute their creativity, experiences, hopes, and vision for Chicago.
The experience will create a lasting visual representation of youth voice, community, remembrance, and hope.
VIBE — DJ + Teen Party
A live DJ will provide the soundtrack for the Takeover, creating an energetic environment where teens can dance, celebrate, connect with friends, and simply enjoy being young.
PLAY — Basketball, Double Dutch + More
Mandrake Park will come alive with opportunities for movement, competition, and fun, including basketball, Double Dutch, youth games, and interactive activities.
CAPTURE — Social Station
A social station will give teens a fun way to capture the afternoon, create memories with friends, and share the energy of the Takeover.
EAT — Free Food
Food trucks will bring another layer of excitement to the festival atmosphere.
The first 300 teens will receive FREE FOOD.
EXPERIENCE — Live Entertainment with D-LOW and DJ Will the Thrill!!
Live entertainment and special moments throughout the afternoon will keep the energy high and give young people even more reasons to participate, connect, and celebrate.
CONNECT — Community + LUV
The Takeover is also an opportunity to connect young people with the community around them.
Youth will have access to community organizations, mentors, resources, and positive adults committed to helping them thrive.
