About this Event

As noted by the Museums Association, the return of objects to their countries and communities of origin can be a powerful cultural, spiritual and symbolic act which recognises past wrongs. It can help foster cultural justice and contribute towards healing for the diaspora and those source communities.

Museums are increasingly recognising their moral responsibilities around unethically acquired cultural heritage, and the last few years have seen an increase in numbers of returns. In this lunchtime talk, you'll find out more about the often complex and lengthy processes involved and hear about Sheffield Museums' progress made so far.

Please donate if you're able and help keep your museums open and available for everyone to enjoy.

Suggested donation £5 – when you select your tickets, please scroll down and select ‘General Admission + Donation’.
