One of the great virtuoso showpieces, Tartini’s ‘Devil’s Trill’ sonata was inspired by a dream in which the composer imagined a deal with the Devil, who proceeded to demonstrate the best solo Tartini had ever heard! Coupled with Brahm’s beautiful final violin sonata this programme is a perfect showcase for Scottish virtuoso Emma Baird.
