Step back into the world of the Walker Sisters of Little Greenbrier and join historian Robin Goddard as she shares vivid, personal memories from her childhood visits with these remarkable mountain women. Guests will cook alongside Robin and living historian Donna Stinnett as they prepare a traditional Smoky Mountain meal much like the Walker Sisters themselves would have made—simple, hearty dishes crafted with open‑hearth techniques passed down through generations.
Participants will help prepare the meal over the fire, learning the practical, time‑honored methods the sisters relied on in their daily lives. You’ll also set the table in true Walker Sisters fashion, placing shared dishes and condiments at the center so everyone can serve themselves, echoing the communal style that defined their family home.
As the food comes together and stories unfold, guests will gather around the table to enjoy the meal they helped create. Through hands‑on cooking, shared conversation, and Robin’s firsthand recollections, visitors will gain a rare and intimate understanding of the self‑reliant traditions and enduring spirit that shaped life in Little Greenbrier.
Menu: Pork Tenderloin, Boiled Potatoes, Wild Greens, Soup Beans, Cornbread, Beets, Pickles, Rutabaga with Bacon, Fried Apple Pies, Coffee, Apple Cider
Tickets are $100 per person, and there are only 12 available!
