Jillian Battaglio CPA, CA
Jillian works with incorporated business owners who want more than basic compliance. Her focus is helping clients understand their financials, plan ahead for tax, and make informed decisions as their businesses grow.
With over a 15+ of experience in public practice, Jillian specializes in corporate tax planning, owner-manager tax integration, and financial reporting for small to mid-sized corporations. She is known for explaining complex tax issues in plain language and helping clients feel confident about what comes next.
As the founder of Creekside Accounting, Jillian built the firm around proactive planning, clear communication, and organized processes - so clients always know where they stand and what to expect.

Karen Erickson CFP®, RRC
Karen is the co-lead of our practice, focusing on the high-net-worth client experience, investment planning, and charitable giving. Karen's career with IG began in 1997 as a marketing assistant.
By 2006, she decided to lead her own practice and obtained her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation in 2007, well before it became popular.
She understood the importance of education and dedication to the industry's professionalism. Recognized by IG as a strong business practice leader, Karen took on the role of Division Director for five years, followed by a five-year tenure as Regional Vice President for the Okanagan Region. In March 2019, she decided to step down from management to partner with her daughter Kayla, who was already in the industry. That same year, Karen was honored as one of Kelowna's Top 40 Over 40.
A finalist for the Kelowna Women in Business Woman of the Year 2024, Karen has continually demonstrated her leadership within the business community. A dedicated philanthropist, she completed a six-year term on the board of United Way, volunteers annually at the local Alzheimer’s Walk, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Seniors Outreach Centre in Kelowna. In 2021, she received the prestigious "Herbert H. Carnegie" award, which recognizes outstanding client service and a strong commitment to community, an award that can only be earned once in a career.
Karen also has her own Strategic Charitable Giving legacy donor-advised fund, underscoring her commitment to giving back and creating a lasting impact.
Kayla Caruana BBA, CFP®, RRC
Kayla is the co-lead of our practice, with a primary focus on the high-net-worth client experience and retirement income planning.
She pursued post-secondary education at Okanagan College in Kelowna, BC, and Camosun College in Victoria, BC, obtaining a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Finance in 2016.
Kayla began her career with IG Wealth Management as an assistant, transitioning to a consultant in June 2016. In 2019, she obtained her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP) designation and was recognized as the youngest CFP professional in IG across Canada at the time.
Kayla leads an award-winning practice and has received numerous accolades, including Young Entrepreneur of the Year (2019), Kelowna’s Top 40 Under 40 (2020), and Philanthropist of the Year (2019). In 2022, Kayla and Karen were named “Best Financial Advisory Team” in Kelowna. In March 2023, she completed the IG Wealth Management: Wharton Behavioral Finance for Private Clients Program with the University of Pennsylvania.
A strong advocate for title protection in the industry, Kayla promotes ongoing professional development. She serves as a Director on the local Advocis board and travels throughout Canada to champion title protection and elevate industry standards. She is currently working towards her Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation.
