Turn your lunch break into something meaningful! Bring your meal to the Sears Recreation Center and enjoy a thought-provoking documentary in a relaxed, welcoming setting. This month, we’re featuring the doc “Thunder Soul.” In this film, alumni from Houston’s storied Kashmere High School Stage Band return home after 35 years to play a tribute concert for their beloved band leader who turned the struggling jazz band into a world-class funk powerhouse in the early 1970s. This film is rated PG for brief language and momentary historical smoking and has a run time of 1 hour and 23 minutes.
