Lunch & Learn | Mayor Ishmael Harris

Mayor Harris’s heritage is deeply rooted in Juneteenth Rodeos, and the Bastrop County Historical Society is honored to have him speak about his family’s legacy. His presentation will be in conjunction with the newest Special Exhibit, Soul Circuit: Juneteenth Rodeos in Texas. A collection of dynamic photographs by Sarah Bird of Juneteenth Rodeos across Texas. Participants will not only hear a personal account but also see this exhibit for free. The exhibit and lunch are free, thanks to a grant from Humanities Texas through the National Endowment for the Arts.
