About Amy Davis
Amy Davis joined KPRC 2 in May 2005 and is a four-time Emmy Award-winning investigative reporter known for her dedication to helping people and pursuing justice. Her investigations have led to scam artists being jailed, changes in state laws and city ordinances, and thousands of dollars refunded to wronged customers.
A Houston native, Amy attended Aldine Senior High School and graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Journalism and a minor in Political Science. She is a long-time member of Investigative Reporters & Editors (IRE) and has received numerous honors from organizations including the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters, the Society of Professional Journalists, the Houston Press Club, the Harris County Medical Society, and the Lone Star Emmy Chapter.
After starting as an intern at KPRC 2, she worked as an anchor and reporter in Beaumont; Asheville, North Carolina; and San Antonio before returning to Houston. Among her most notable investigations: exposing racial discrimination at a swim club in Beaumont, which led to federal action and earned her a 1998 award, and uncovering poor conditions at an assisted living facility in Asheville, resulting in state fines and improved living arrangements for residents.
Amy says the best part of her job is righting wrongs and giving a voice to those who might not otherwise be heard. Outside of work, she stays busy with her three children.
