Celebrate with friends and family as we usher in good luck and prosperity for the year ahead!
We are thrilled to present a beautiful Gu Zheng performance by the talented Annie Lin and her daughter Loren Liu, both from Koto Restaurant and Annie’s Asian Mart. The Gu Zheng, also known as the Chinese Zither, is a traditional string instrument with over 2,500 years of history. With its 21 strings and graceful melodies, this ancient instrument will surely transport you into the heart of Chinese cultural heritage. Annie and Loren will showcase the intricate art of playing the Gu Zheng, a beautiful and unique performance you won’t want to miss!
Following the music, artist Rachel TonThat will lead a contemporary calligraphy workshop, where participants can learn the art of crafting their own lucky door signs, or chunlian, which are often displayed during Lunar New Year to invite good fortune. This hands-on experience is perfect for all skill levels, and you'll leave with a beautiful piece of art to bring good luck to your home.
The celebration will conclude with a chance to mingle, sample festive drinks, and enjoy some delicious snacks, as we come together to celebrate community, culture, and new beginnings.
