The popular Luminarias program returns for another December concert. Join Trío Guadalevín with guest artist Vicki Boeckman for an intimate evening of acoustic winter music by candlelight. Bolster your spirit during the darkest month of the year with secular and sacred melodies from Mexico, Peru, Spain and Italy, reaching from the 12th century to the present. Trío Guadalevín brings its signature collection of global strings and percussion, with vocals in Spanish, Zapotec and Ladino, joined by celebrated recorder artist, Vicki Boeckman, whose flowing musicality sings through a beautiful collection of “flauta dulce” (wooden recorders). Music and poetry from diverse cultural and faith traditions remind us of the ways people have held vigil around light during the darkest times.
