•• LUKE STUTZMAN AND THE HEAVIES ••
Luke Stutzman (2023 IMA Acoustic Artist of the Year) is a central Iowa based singer-songwriter as seen on the YouTube channel (1 Mic 1 Iowa) (Music of America Podcast) recently signed with Midwest Artist Group out of Ohio. He has a unique percussive style of guitar playing and a raspy-tone that transfers seamlessly into his Alt-Americana-Indie-Rock genre. He is not your typical singer-songwriter as he has a style all his own with influences by the Allman Brothers, Amos Lee, Chris Stapleton, Hendrix & Johnny Cash. His rich vocals carry a jazzy soul not normally heard in Americana acts. Stutzman has been performing as a solo act for years, but has put together some of the best players in the state to create ”The Heavies” a 4-piece band to help promote his debut album “Ride on the Wind” recorded at Hill Top studios in Nashville, TN. Available on all platforms.
"The Heavies"
Drummer John Withers (Granger, IA) who has been playing drums since he was a teenager and has been perfecting his craft over the past 30 years. Withers has played percussion for several rock bands in the Des Moines area and is one of the most versatile drummers in the area.
Lead guitarist Joe Kiplinger (Des Moines, IA) is an amazing talent and well-versed guitar player whose chops put him at the top of the list for best guitarist in the state. Kiplinger is an inventive and fiery lead guitar player whose improvisational skills are second to none.
Bass player Mark Manning (Des Moines, IA) brings many years of knowledge and experience to the Heavies, his melodic baselines and syncopated rhythms keeps the music tight and holds the band steady.
Fiddle player Joshua Rector (Rex)(Altoona, IA) is a talented violin/fiddle player who is skilled writer and improviser. Rex is also a skilled background vocalist/harmonizer which will add color and depth to the band.
•• TRIPLE ELVIS ••
Triple Elvis, is a Des Moines-based rock trio, emerged as a therapeutic response to life's stressors and struggles.
Drawing influences from indie and alternative rock, post-punk, indie-folk, and modern indie-pop, with a unique sound is laced with angsty Dad-rock, sporadically invoking the spirit of primal howling sea-shanties.
Members have played in the following Iowa bands: The Sapwoods, Love Songs for Lonely Monsters, ThunderScore, Wolves in the Attic, Spells, Superchad, Circus Fun, and Soothing Syrup.
