Lughnasadh: The First Harvest
About this Event
Lughnasadh (pronounced loo-nah-sah) marks the beginning of the harvest - a time to celebrate the bounty of the land around us, but also a time to begin to prepare for the dark times of autumn and winter ahead. It is time to reap what we have sown both physically and metaphorically.
The celebration will begin with informal gathering and preparation for our ceremony. We will hold our ceremony around noon, followed by a potluck lunch.
Then, we will compete in family-Olympic-style games and activities in our version of the Tailteann Games, which were celebrated in pre-Christian Ireland.
We will also have supplies available to make seasonal crafts.
Families and pets are welcome.
