Lucicrous Speed is a ska revue band formed in 2012 by a few Corvallis horn players with a love for ska music. Their current 8-member lineup is dedicated to spreading the love of ska music and encouraging dancing and merriment. Playing a variety of tunes from across the ska universe with a healthy dose of other recognizable tunes for good measure, their high energy show is sure to put a smile on your face and a hop in your step!
The Georgetown Orbits:
Since the band’s conception in late 2004, The Georgetown Orbits have risen to international notoriety for their soulful, modern-vintage, style of Jamaican ska and reggae music. Many releases from the critically-acclaimed group have earned spots in several playlists all over the world. Their dynamic live performances have attracted audiences throughout the western US and Canada.
The band's latest album 'Constellations' (releasing in April 2025) is a 10 song LP of soulful ska and smooth, buttery reggae sounds with King Tubby-like spacey dub effects peppered throughout. The songs were tracked using vintage recording equipment in an effort to capture the vibe and aesthetic of the era of ska and reggae music that they love so much.
