About this Event
Join Dr Lucy Andrew, crime writer, crime fiction scholar and former Senior Lecturer in English Literature and Programme Leader of the English degree at University Centre Shrewsbury as she launches her debut novel, A Very Vexing M**der, the first book in the Harriet Smith Investigates series. A Very Vexing M**der is a cosy crime retelling of Jane Austen's Emma which transforms Emma's timid little sidekick, Harriet Smith, into a feisty con-woman-turned-detective who is hired to investigate a M**der that hasn't yet been committed.
Lucy will be interviewed by local writer and fellow Jane Austen expert Rachel Lloyd and there will be the opportunity to ask questions.
The book will be able to buy at the event and Lucy will be signing books after the event.
This is a free event, but space is limited so please be sure to book your ticket here in advance, or by emailing [email protected].
The event will take place in the Darwin Room at Shrewsbury Library. The room is accessible by lift.
