Here is the truth: every student and family in this state deserves to attend a high-quality neighborhood public school–a place with well-prepared public school educators, high-resourced classrooms and all the tools necessary to meet their social and emotional needs. Instead of fighting forward for that promise, misguided lawmakers in Kansas want to take our public schools backward with proposals that would siphon off money from local public schools for a private school voucher program for that state's wealthiest families. Let's show up to remind them that Kansans love our public schools and we won't see them bankrupted.
