If you are looking for a brawling boozy night out, hearing the same old songs, The Lucky Losers are not your best bet. Lemons & Berkowitz are first composers of ingenious, songs for a thinking person. This band makes 1960’s blues and early ‘70’s soul sound new. With an allegiance to the inner character of what blues is all about, rather than the familiar shell, they have created a winning combination together, sometimes Cathy taking the vocal lead, sometimes Berkowitz. It doesn’t hurt that Berkowitz adds exceptional harmonica to every song. And their beautifully rendered male - female duets add to the excitement.
The band is made up of top blues veterans: Stephen Bass of Chicago, Chris Burns on keys from the Bay Area, Simon Given Smith on guitar.
