Lt. Chris Higgins Memorial Skate and Hockey Game

Good Morning All,
The Hooligans Hockey Team would like to invite you to join us on Saturday August 8th 2026 (B-Shift) at Piney Orchard Ice Arena for the Chris Higgins Memorial Skate and Hockey Game.
This is an effort to offset the cost of travel for the shift mates of Chris Higgins and to support an organization that has helped many members of our department.
For this event we have created custom "Higgins" jerseys that are able to be purchased and worn for the event. All proceeds raised from these jersey sales will be given to Chris's shift at Co. 15/A to offset their out-of-pocket travel costs to Colorado Springs as they attend the IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial this year. Starting at 3:30pm, we will have an hour of open ice for you to come and skate with your family and friends. Skate rentals are included; and if this may be your first time on the ice, we promise we will have fellow co-workers and teammates readily available to help you learn.
Following the open skate, members from the MCFR Hooligans Hockey Team will be taking the ice to compete against the Anne Arundel County Pickheads Hockey Team. Stay to watch the game and cheer them on as they try to skate faster than you might have at the open skate!
Fundraising at the ice arena will be split to support the Montgomery County Career Fire Fighters Charitable Foundation as well as Anne Arundel's Charitable Foundation.
The post event venue will be shared shortly after the location has been confirmed.

- Proceeds from all jersey orders and post game event will be given to Chris's previous shift mates from 15/A to assist with travel costs to the 2026 IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial Service in Colorado Springs.
- Jerseys must be ordered by May 15th to be guaranteed for the gameday.
- All funds raised during the ice arena event will be split between charitable organizations.
