As your acting President of Lake Saddle Club, I felt it necessary to make some changes for 2024, a major overhaul has been way past due.
All the NEW 2024 information is outlined below, and some old information as a reminder. The Rules will be updated and released in full.
Classes are broken up by the age groups as listed below. Age is as of 1/1/2024.
Pee-wee & Lead-line: up to 8
Junior: 9-13
Intermediate: 14-17
Senior: 18-35
Super Senior 36 and up
The year will consist of 3 separate buckle series:
January-February-March: Winter Series
April-May-June: Spring Series
September-October-November: Fall Series
Awards will be in November
**We will not run June-July-December**
Each event will consist of the following:
Barrels-Poles-Two other fun events.
Exhibition Barrels only will be run prior to the show start time $5.00 per exhibition.
Onetime $20.00 membership fee per member for 2024
$10.00 Arena Fee Per Horse
$10.00 Per Event
**No Non-members** ** No day passes**
January-February-March: Winter Series
Signup/ Exhibition Barrels: 10:00 AM -11:30 AM
Show Starts: 12:00 PM
April-May-June: Spring Series
Signup/ Exhibition Barrels: 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM
Show Starts: 6:00 PM
September-October-November: Fall Series
September Only
Signup/ Exhibition Barrels: 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM
Show Starts: 6:00 PM
October/November:
Signup/ Exhibition Barrels: 10:00 AM -11:30 AM
Show Starts: 12:00 PM
Each Show Rosettes will be awarded to 1st and 2nd Place; Ribbons will be awarded 3rd-5th place per event per age group.
Buckles will be awarded to Grand and Reserve Champion at the end of each separate Buckle Series per age group based on points accumulation.
You must ride the same Horse for Points all 3 events in the series. You may change your horse at each series. However, end of the year points will accumulate based on Horse and Rider combo. You may ride multiple horses at each event, but only one horse may be designated your points horse, and that horse must stay your points horse for the series. Your points horse must be indicated at the 1st show at the time of signup.
***If a Member wins a Grand Buckle they will not qualify for a Buckle in another series for 2024***** However they will accumulate points towards end of the year awards.
**The same horse may not be ridden by two or more different riders unless they are immediate family members. **
At the end of the year point per Rider/Horse combo will be accumulated from all three series all age groups.
Lake Saddle Club Will Award One High Points Saddle to the highest points Horse/Rider Combo for the year.
Reserve High Points will also receive an award (to be determined at a later date)
All age groups points will be accumulated based on Horse/Rider combo for all 3 series End of The Year Awards will be given to 1st - 5th place.
We have removed volunteer points for this year. Please keep in mind that this is a CLUB, and we require many moving parts.
We are going to need volunteers every event to assure we move smoothly and efficiently.
If the shows are long and drawn out, you can only Blame Yourself for Not Helping.
We will post a sign-up for each event for volunteering, I hope you will all be compelled to help out this year so we can run smoothly.
