LPY: Scorpio Season Showdown
**Let’s Play Yahtzee ! Scorpio Season Showdown**

Join us for a night of dice rolling, light trash talk, and excellent wine as **32 players** compete in a multi-round Yahtzee tournament inside one of our favorite neighborhood wine bars.

**What to expect:**
- Friendly competition (bragging rights very much on the line)
- Prizes for the champion + a few questionable achievements
- A room full of people yelling “YAHTZEE!” like it’s a sporting event

**Game Format**
- [Standard Yahtzee rules apply](https://www.hasbro.com/common/instruct/yahtzee.pdf)
- All games use 5 dice, 3 rolls per turn, 13 turns per game.
- Players must score a category every turn (no skips).
**Tournament Structure**
*Scores reset to zero at the start of each round. Only games played within that round are combined.*
Round 1 (Pod Play)
- 8 tables of 4 players
- Each table plays 3 full games
- Players advance based on combined total score from all 3 games
- Top scorer at each table advances to the next round
- ***If you don’t advance from Round 1, you can continue to play with your friends or make new ones!***
Round 2
- 2 tables of 4
- 1 full game
- Top 2 scorers at each table advance
Final Round
- 1 table of 4
- 1 full games
- Winner is the player with the highest score from this round
**Scoring Rules**
- Upper section bonus: +35 points for 63+ (standard)
- Yahtzee rules:
- First Yahtzee = 50 points
- Additional Yahtzees = 100-point bonus
- If Yahtzee category is already filled:
- You must use the Joker rule ([per official rules](https://www.hasbro.com/common/instruct/yahtzee.pdf))
- No house rules (no forced zeros, no re-roll penalties, etc.)
**Ties**
- Round 1 / Round 2 ties:
- Tie-breaker #1: Highest single-game score
- Tie-breaker #2: One sudden-death roll (highest total of one roll)
- Final Round tie:
- One full sudden-death game to determine the winner
**Timing & Pace of Play**
- Please keep the game moving:
- \~60 seconds max per turn
- If you’re unsure, make a reasonable choice and roll on
- Games will start promptly—late arrivals may receive a zeroed first turn
**Dice & Conduct**
- Dice must be rolled in the tray/on the table
- Dice that fall off the table must be re-rolled
- Cocked dice (not flat) must be re-rolled
**Scorekeeping**
Each table assigns one official scorekeeper
- Everyone keeps their own sheet
At game end:
- Players announce totals out loud
- Scorekeeper writes totals on a small table summary slip
- Organizer reviews summary slip at the end of the the round to determine who goes on
All players should verify totals before sheets are submitted
- Once submitted, scores are final
